Forget the Burger Bun

Forget the Burger Bun

We are all about doing things a little differently at Pre. Taking a recipe or an industry and putting our spin on it is something we try to conquer daily. In this case, we swapped out the traditional sesame seeded hamburger bun for an English muffin, a couple of slices of rye bread, and a piece of Naan.

We call these your back up burger combos but they may turn into staples. You never know.  All three start with a perfectly cooked burger. There are many ways to cook a burger.

We prefer a cast iron skillet when the grill isn't an option because of below zero temperatures. Don't worry. We created a how-to video because we know how frustrating it is when a burger is not cooked just right.

Once the groundwork is laid with a medium rare (in our opinion), deliciously crusted burger, add toppings. We covered all the bases with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

3 Back Up Burger Combos

Maple Breakfast Burger

Ingredients:

  • Pre Burger Patties
  • White Cheddar Cheese
  • English muffins, halved & toasted
  • Bacon
  • Eggs, cooked over easy or fried
  • Maple Mustard

Instructions:

  1. Prepare your perfectly cooked burger. (See video above)
  2. Place a slice of cheese on each burger immediately after it comes off the skillet.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or tin foil. Lay bacon strips on the sheet and bake at 400º for 10 minutes or until it is to your liking. Make sure to keep an eye on them so they don't burn.
  4. Spread maple mustard on the bottom English muffin piece. Place your patty on top of the mustard, followed by the bacon and cooked egg.
  5. Finish with the top half of the English muffin and press down to get all that yolky goodness.
