Fiesta Steak Bruschetta
Bruschetta with Latin American flavors and the juicy Pre New York Strip.
Ingredients
Bruschetta
- 1 PRE New York Strip steak
- 8-10 slices French or Italian bread
- olive oil
- 1 avocado (halved, peeled, seeded, and mashed)
- 1 jalapeno (sliced for garnish)
- cilantro (chopped for garnish)
Salsa
- 1 cup tomato (chopped)
- ½ cup red onions (chopped)
- 2 tbsp. jalapeno (minced)
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 tbsp. lime juice
- salt, pepper, and cilantro to taste
Instructions
- Combine tomatoes, red onions, jalapeños, garlic, lime juice, salt, pepper, and cilantro in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Slice bread diagonally into thin slices (about ½ inch) and place on baking sheet. Brush top of bread slices with olive oil.
- Preheat oven to 450F and toast bread for 5-6 minutes.
- Season steak with salt and pepper. Set aside. Heat cast iron skillet to high heat, and when skillet gets hot, add cooking oil.
- Add steak to skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or to preferred doneness. Set aside and let cool for 5 minutes. Slice after steak has cooled.
- Layer baked bread with mashed avocado and salsa.
- Add slice of steak and top with slice of jalapeno and chopped cilantro for garnish.
