Build Your Own Gyro Platter
Next time you crave a Gyro sandwich at the end of a workday, grab some Pre 80% Lean Ground beef and impress your family with homemade gyros. This can easily be thrown on the grill or cooking on the stove.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Pre 80% Lean Ground Beef
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch (Use tapioca starch if on Whole30)
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 clove garlic
Platter:
- Bell Peppers, sliced
- Cucumber
- Pita Bread
- Hummus
- Parsley
- Carrots
- Drop the clove of garlic into a running food processor to mince.
- Add the ground beef to the food processor along with the onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, and salt.
- Pulse until well combined.
- Place beef mixture on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate. Put a heavy pan or cutting board on top to flatten.
- Chill the beef in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes.
- Once ready to cook, place the beef on a hot grill or grill pan and cook until the internal temperature reaches at least 155º.
- Let rest and slice into 1/4 to 1/3 inch strips.
- Serve with pita, cucumber, bell pepper, and hummus!
